Activités de recherche du CNR-STREP

C. Poyart  co-dirige l’équipe « Barrières et Pathogènes » qui appartient au Département Infection, Immunité, Inflammation de l’Institut Cochin (INSERM 1016; UMR CNRS 8104 ; Université Paris Descartes).

L’équipe Streptocoque est composée d’un PU-PH (C. Poyart), d’une directrice de recherche A. Fouet (DR CNRS),  d’un MCU-PH (A. Tazi), de deux techniciens, de chercheurs post-doctorants et doctorants. L’équipe collabore également avec l’Unité de Biologie des Bactéries Pathogènes Gram positif, dirigée par le Pr. P. Trieu-Cuot à l’Institut Pasteur.

L’équipe focalise ses recherches sur des pathogènes majeurs responsables d’infections humaines et Streptococcus pyogenes et Streptococcus agalactiae sont parmi les grands centres d’intérêt. En combinant des données épidémiologiques, des approches génétiques et biochimiques, des modèles cellulaires et des modèles animaux, nous étudions principalement deux aspects de la pathogénicité de ces streptocoques. Le premier a pour but de caractériser les protéines de surface impliquées dans les différentes étapes du processus infectieux et leurs partenaires eucaryotes, le deuxième se focalise sur les mécanismes d’adaptation bactériens engendrés par les stimuli rencontrés au niveau des différents sites infectieux.
